Stat. tit. 68, § 68-3005.1","heading":"County excise boards - Membership - Unlawful acts -","body":"Compensation - Penalties.\n\nA. A county excise board is hereby created for each county in\n\nthe state, to be composed of the members of the county board of\n\nequalization as created in Section 2861 of this title. The county\n\nclerk shall serve as secretary and clerk of the board without\n\nadditional compensation.\n\nB. It shall be unlawful for any member of the county excise\n\nboard to sell or contract to sell, or to lease or contract to lease,\n\nor to represent any person, firm, corporation or association in the\n\nsale or the lease of any machinery, supplies, equipment, material,\n\nor other goods, wares, or merchandise to any county or city or town\n\nof the county. It shall also be unlawful for any member of the\n\ncounty excise board to serve as employee, official, or attorney for\n\nany county or city, or town of the county, or for any such member to\n\nrepresent any taxpayer before such board in any manner, or to use\n\nhis or her position as a board member to further his or her own\n\ninterests. It shall also be unlawful for any taxpayer or interested\n\nparty to employ any member of the county excise board in any matter\n\ncoming before the board.\n\nC. The members of county excise boards in all counties having\n\nan assessed valuation of Two Billion Dollars ($2,000,000,000.00) or\n\nmore shall receive as compensation an amount not to exceed One\n\nHundred Twenty-five Dollars ($125.00) per day. The members of\n\ncounty excise boards in all other counties may receive as\n\ncompensation an amount not to exceed One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)\n\nper day, the amount to be established by the boards.\n\nIn addition, the members of county excise boards shall be\n\nreimbursed for each mile of travel to and from their residences to\n\nthe place of meeting of the board for each session attended at the\n\nrate provided for other county officers. The members of county\n\nexcise boards shall be also reimbursed for each mile of necessary\n\ntravel in the performance of their official duties at the same rate.\n\nThe total number of days in each year for which the members of\n\nthe board may be paid shall be as follows:\n\n1. In counties having an assessed valuation of Forty Million\n\nDollars ($40,000,000.00) and less, not to exceed sixty (60) days;\n\n2. In counties having an assessed valuation of more than Forty\n\nMillion Dollars ($40,000,000.00) and not more than Eighty Million\n\nDollars ($80,000,000.00), not to exceed sixty-five (65) days;\n\n3. In counties having an assessed valuation of more than Eighty\n\nMillion Dollars ($80,000,000.00) and not more than Five Hundred\n\nMillion Dollars ($500,000,000.00), not to exceed one hundred (100)\n\ndays; and\n\n4. In counties having an assessed valuation of more than Five\n\nHundred Million Dollars ($500,000,000.00), not to exceed two hundred\n\nfifty (250) days.\n\nD.
