Stat. tit. 68, § 68-6502","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act:\n\n1. \"Charging station\" means equipment by which electric current\n\nis transferred to the power system of an electric vehicle together\n\nwith the real property upon which such equipment is located or\n\naffixed;\n\n2. \"Charging station operator\" means any person, firm, general\n\npartnership, limited partnership, limited liability partnership,\n\ncorporation, limited liability company or any other lawfully\n\nrecognized business entity that owns or operates or owns and\n\noperates a charging station in the state;\n\n3. \"Electric vehicle\" means a 100%-electric or plug-in hybrid\n\nelectric motor vehicle with the following characteristics:\n\na. a 100%-electric motor vehicle originally equipped so\n\nthat the vehicle:\n\n(1) draws propulsion energy solely from a battery\n\nwith at least twenty (20) kilowatt hours of\n\ncapacity, which can be recharged from any\n\nexternal source of electricity,\n\n(2) is manufactured primarily for use on public\n\nstreets, roads and highways, but does not include\n\na vehicle operated exclusively on a rail or\n\nrails, and\n\n(3) which has at least four wheels,\n\nb. a plug-in hybrid electric motor vehicle which is\n\noriginally equipped so that the vehicle:\n\n(1) draws propulsion energy from:\n\n(a) an internal combustion engine, and\n\n(b) a battery with at least five (5) kilowatt\n\nhours of capacity, which can be recharged\n\nfrom an external source of electricity,\n\n(2) is manufactured primarily for use on public\n\nstreets, roads and highways, but does not include\n\na vehicle operated exclusively on a rail or\n\nrails, and\n\n(3) which has at least four wheels,\n\nc. for purposes of this paragraph, the term \"electric\n\nvehicle\" does not include a vehicle that is\n\nmanufactured primarily for off-road use, such as\n\nprimarily for use on a golf course, and that has a\n\nmaximum speed of thirty (30) miles per hour or less;\n\n4. \"Legacy chargers\" means charging stations in operation prior\n\nto November 1, 2021, that have never had a metering system in place\n\ncapable of measuring electricity transferred from the charging\n\nstation to the vehicle or are incapable of measuring the time\n\nelapsed while actively charging a vehicle and placing a fee on the\n\ncharging session; and\n\n5. \"Public charging station\" means a location at which a\n\ncharging station owner or operator conducts for-profit business\n\nusing a metered system for the delivery of electric power to an\n\nelectric vehicle and charges the customer either for the electricity\n\ntransferred to the power system of the vehicle or for the duration\n\nof time during which electricity is transferred to the power system\n\nof the vehicle.","path":["OK Code","Title 68"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os68.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c3a04fc83d4b4e6c769ad9c17dad00697e89df7ebb71ce4efe1948bcd11e7132","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-68-68-6501","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-68-68-6503"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
