Stat. tit. 69, § 69-1207","heading":"Purchase and sale of unneeded parcels","body":"Whenever a part of a parcel of land is to be taken for state\n\nhighway purposes and the remainder is to be left in such shape or\n\ncondition as to be of little value to its owner, or to give rise to\n\nclaims or litigation concerning severance or other damage, the\n\nDepartment may acquire by condemnation or as otherwise provided by\n\nlaw the whole parcel and may sell the remainder or may exchange the\n\nsame for other property needed for state highway purposes.
