Stat. tit. 69, § 69-1279","heading":"Compensation for signs and rights taken","body":"The Department is directed to acquire by purchase, gift or\n\ncondemnation, and shall pay just compensation upon the removal of,\n\nthe outdoor advertising signs, displays and devices specified in\n\nsubsections (a), (b) and (c) of this section, when and insofar as\n\ntheir removal is required hereunder, as follows:\n\n(a) Those lawfully in existence on the effective date of this\n\nact.\n\n(b) Those lawfully adjacent to any highway made a part of the\n\ninterstate or primary system on or after the effective date of this\n\nact.\n\n(c) Those lawfully erected, which later become unlawful.\n\n(d) Such compensation shall be paid as follows;\n\n(1) For the taking from the owner thereof the outdoor\n\nadvertising device.\n\n(2) To the owner of the land on which the outdoor\n\nadvertising device is located for the right to erect and maintain\n\noutdoor advertising thereon.","path":["OK Code","Title 69"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os69.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2dbc250f68582f6bbbb700d370cf393f8173b0de5a5cc050e852f5c287b420de","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-1278","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-1280"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
