Stat. tit. 69, § 69-1315","heading":"Appointment of appraisers","body":"\n\n(a) After the work covered by the contract has been completed,\n\nthe engineer shall prepare and file with the city or county clerk a\n\nfinal, complete and accurate statement of the cost of the work\n\ncovered by the contract. Such statement shall cover the\n\nengineering, appraising, advertising, and the expenses incurred, or\n\nto be incurred, by the city or county incident thereto, but shall\n\nexclude the cost of acquisition. The engineer shall file at the\n\nsame time a statement of the portion thereof previously determined\n\nby the governing body or the board of county commissioners to be\n\nassessed. Upon the filing of the statements by the engineer, the\n\ngoverning body of the city or the board of county commissioners\n\nshall adopt and confirm the same if found to be correct.\n\n(b) The engineer's report shall also include a proposed schedule\n\nof estimated assessments proposed to be made against each lot, tract\n\nand parcel of land included in the district. The governing body or\n\nthe board shall, by resolution, appoint commissioners to appraise\n\nand apportion for the benefits of the several lots or tracts of\n\nland, exclusive of streets and alleys, located within the assessment\n\ndistrict. The commissioners shall consist of three disinterested\n\nfreeholders of the city or county, not owners of any of the property\n\nto be assessed. Such commissioners shall be paid not to exceed Ten\n\nDollars ($10.00) for each day while actually employed in such\n\nservice.
