Stat. tit. 69, § 69-1331","heading":"Powers of state and governing bodies","body":"Within their respective jurisdictions, the State of Oklahoma\n\nthrough the Commission, and the governing body of every city within\n\nthe provisions of this article, and the board of county\n\ncommissioners of each county, acting alone, or in cooperation with\n\nany federal, state, county or city agency having authority to\n\nparticipate in the construction or maintenance of highways, shall\n\nhave authority to plan, designate, establish, regulate, vacate,\n\nalter, improve, maintain and provide limited access facilities; and\n\nmay designate the whole or any part or parts thereof as parkways, or\n\nas heavy traffic highways, or may otherwise limit or specify the\n\ntype of traffic entitled to use the same. For the purposes of this\n\narticle, each city within the provisions of this article, and every\n\ncounty within the state, shall have authority to acquire property\n\nand rights-of-way for limited access facilities by gift, devise,\n\npurchase or condemnation in the same manner as may be authorized by\n\nlaw for the acquisition of such property or property rights for\n\nhighways and streets within their respective jurisdictions.
