Stat. tit. 69, § 69-1502","heading":"Authorized expenditures of funds and money","body":"All funds appropriated to the Department of Transportation and\n\nall funds credited to the State Highway Construction and Maintenance\n\nFund and all funds received from the United States Government under\n\ncontracts with the Federal Highway Administration are to be used and\n\nexpended by the Department to pay: Legal obligations in the\n\noperation of the Department and the Commission, and in the\n\nconstruction and maintenance of roads and highways; the expenses of\n\noperating and maintaining the state highway system; expenses\n\nincurred in constructing, repairing, and maintaining state highways,\n\nfarm-to-market roads and county highways as authorized by law;\n\nmatching federal funds for the annual Federal Highway Administration\n\nallocation to the Center for Local Government Technology at Oklahoma\n\nState University for the Federal Highway Administration Rural\n\nTechnical Assistance Program, up to seventy-five percent (75%) of\n\nthe amount of funding the state is required to provide; necessary\n\nand convenient items not specifically mentioned herein; salaries,\n\nwages, and lawful expenses of the members of the Commission, the\n\nDirector, the Departmental employees, the attorneys and other\n\nprofessional help of the Department; for the purchase of office\n\nsupplies, furniture, fixtures, and equipment; for the construction,\n\nmaintenance, and repair of needed warehouses, garages, division\n\nheadquarters, and other needed buildings; for premiums on bonds,\n\nworkers' compensation insurance, public liability and property\n\ndamage insurance; for the purchase of materials, tools, machinery,\n\nmotor vehicles, and equipment necessary or convenient in the\n\noperation of the Department and construction and maintenance of\n\nroads and highways; for witnesses' fees, sheriffs' mileage, and\n\npublication cost in actions to appropriate right-of-way, land or\n\nmaterials needed in the construction or maintenance of roads and\n\nhighways; any expenses which may be necessary or convenient in\n\nconstructing and maintaining roads and highways and in accomplishing\n\nthe purposes for which the Commission and the Department were\n\ncreated; for the acquisition by purchase of right-of-way and land\n\nand relocation assistance to persons displaced as a result of such\n\nacquisition; as shall be provided by commission regulations which\n\nshall not exceed in amount similar assistance provided by federal\n\nlaw and regulations, provided further that (1) all payments received\n\nby persons displaced by reason of this act are not to be considered\n\nas income for state income tax purposes; (2) nothing in this act\n\nshall be construed as creating in any condemnation proceeding\n\nbrought under the power of eminent domain, any element of value or\n\ndamage not in existence immediately prior to the date of enactment\n\nof this act; (3) all final determinations made by the Commission as\n\nto a person's eligibility for, or the amount of any benefit payable\n\nby reason of this act, shall be determinative and not subject to\n\njudicial review; any final judgment rendered by a court of competent\n\njurisdiction in eminent domain proceedings for the taking or\n\ndamaging of real or personal property for which the state is liable;\n\nfor the expense of audit as provided by law and for the satisfaction\n\nof any and all lawful claims or demands of whatsoever kind or\n\ncharacter arising out of contracts with or judgments rendered\n\nagainst the Commission or the State of Oklahoma as a result of the\n\nconstruction and maintenance of roads and highways; and other\n\nexpenses authorized by law.","path":["OK Code","Title 69"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os69.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"da86516edff4b9c523b29b9ddd58ea5727159a9d720a75a9651cac465f81e470","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-1501.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-1502.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
