Stat. tit. 69, § 69-1701","heading":"Purpose - Authority to construct, maintain, repair and","body":"operate projects.\n\nIn order to facilitate vehicular traffic throughout the state\n\nand remove the present handicaps and hazards on the congested\n\nhighways in the state, and to provide for the construction of modern\n\nexpress highways embodying reasonable safety devices including ample\n\nshoulder widths, long sight distances, the bypassing of cities and\n\ntowns, and grade separations at intersecting highways and railroads,\n\nthe Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, as created in Section 1703 of this\n\ntitle, is hereby authorized and empowered to construct, maintain,\n\nrepair, and operate turnpike projects as defined in Section 1704 of\n\nthis title, at such locations as shall be approved by the\n\nTransportation Commission, and to issue turnpike revenue bonds of\n\nthe Authority payable solely from revenues to pay the cost of such\n\nprojects. The Authority is further authorized and empowered to\n\ndevelop and market alternative uses of the Oklahoma Turnpike\n\nAuthority Electronic Toll Collection System, and construct,\n\nmaintain, repair, and operate inter-modal transportation transfer\n\nfacilities and infrastructure relating thereto, including, without\n\nlimitation, warehouses and utility facilities and intercity rail\n\ntransit projects as it shall determine to be feasible and\n\neconomically sound.","path":["OK Code","Title 69"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os69.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"1eccfef3ffb9b05f3cfb5e7f9635030427713741ccb87f75d267d3a699f5aed8","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-1698.99","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-1702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
