There is hereby created a Department of Transportation and a\n\nTransportation Commission in and for this state, pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of Section 1 of Article XVI of the Oklahoma Constitution,\n\nand such department shall be governed by the Director of the\n\nDepartment of Transportation, provided for by Section 305 of this\n\ntitle, under such reasonable rules, regulations and policies and\n\nroad improvement programs as may be prescribed by the Commission.\n\nSuch rules and regulations and amendments thereto as adopted by the\n\nCommission shall be filed and recorded in the Office of the\n\nSecretary of State.\n\nB. The Department and the Commission created by subsection A of\n\nthis section and the Director of the Department of Transportation\n\nprovided for by Section 305 of this title shall be the legal\n\nsuccessors of, and unless and except as otherwise provided by this\n\ntitle shall also have the powers and duties vested by other laws in,\n\nand shall take immediate charge of all equipment, supplies and\n\nproperty now in the possession of, the Department, Commission and\n\nDirector, respectively, created and provided for by 69 O.S. 1961,\n\nSections 20.1 and 20.6, as amended, and shall be liable for their\n\nrespective obligations.","path":["OK Code","Title 69"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os69.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7a84ab51bbb8a7e95a4ca6674da48f512f710721dbfbee22af88ec2b2d14f943","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-3009","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-3010"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
