The State Highway Commission, created in Section 301 of\n\nTitle 69 of the Oklahoma Statutes, shall hereafter be known as the\n\nTransportation Commission. Except as specifically provided, this\n\nact shall not be construed to alter the present terms, districts,\n\nmembership, method of appointment, powers and duties of the State\n\nHighway Commission hereinafter referred to as the Transportation\n\nCommission. Any statutory references to the State Highway\n\nCommission shall mean the Transportation Commission as redesignated\n\nherein. The Commission shall be the governing and policymaking body\n\nfor the Department of Transportation and shall determine the\n\npolicies, plans and programs for accomplishment of the purposes of\n\nthis act. It shall be the duty of and the Commission shall be\n\nempowered to develop plans and programs for an efficient, safe\n\nsystem of transportation for the State of Oklahoma at reasonable\n\ncost to the people.\n\nB.
