Stat. tit. 69, § 69-4008","heading":"Abolition of the Department of Highways, the Highway","body":"Safety Coordinating Committee, and the Railroad Maintenance\n\nAuthority.\n\nThe Department of Highways, the Highway Safety Coordinating\n\nCommittee and the Railroad Maintenance Authority are hereby\n\nabolished. The powers, duties and responsibilities exercised by the\n\nabove-listed entities pursuant to law are hereby transferred to the\n\nDepartment. Effective July 1, 1993, the powers, duties and\n\nresponsibilities of the Highway Safety Coordinating Committee that\n\nwere transferred to the Department shall be transferred to the\n\nDepartment of Public Safety. Any statutory references to the\n\nDepartment of Highways or the Railroad Maintenance Authority shall\n\nmean the Department of Transportation.
