The Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission shall be\n\ncomposed of twenty-one (21) members. Appointed members shall\n\nreflect the interests, history and importance of the communities\n\nalong Route 66 in Oklahoma. The members are appointed as follows:\n\n1. Two members shall be appointed by the Speaker of the House\n\nof Representatives;\n\n2. Two members shall be appointed by the President of the\n\nSenate;\n\n3. Three members of the public shall be appointed by the\n\nGovernor; and\n\n4. Fourteen ex officio members shall be appointed as follows:\n\na. the Governor or his or her designee,\n\nb. the Lieutenant Governor, who shall serve as\n\nchairperson, or his or her designee,\n\nc. the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of\n\nTransportation or his or her designee,\n\nd. the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Historical\n\nSociety or his or her designee,\n\ne. the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of\n\nCommerce or his or her designee,\n\nf. the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Tourism and\n\nRecreation Department or his or her designee,\n\ng. the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Arts Council or\n\nhis or her designee,\n\nh. the President of the Route 66 Alliance or his or her\n\ndesignee,\n\ni. the President of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association or\n\nhis or her designee,\n\nj. the Executive Director of Preservation Oklahoma, Inc.,\n\nor his or her designee,\n\nk. the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Museums\n\nAssociation or his or her designee,\n\nl. the Executive Director of Oklahoma Humanities or his\n\nor her designee,\n\nm. the Director of the Oklahoma Municipal League or his\n\nor her designee, and\n\nn. the President of the Oklahoma State Chamber of\n\nCommerce or his or her designee.\n\nAn ex officio member of the Commission vacates the person's position\n\non the Commission if the person ceases to hold the position that\n\nqualifies the person for service on the Commission.\n\nB. The Commission shall meet at least quarterly at the times\n\nand places in this state that the Commission designates. A majority\n\nof the members of the Commission constitutes a quorum for\n\ntransacting Commission business. Subject to appropriation, the\n\nOklahoma Historical Society shall provide administrative and other\n\nsupport to the Commission.\n\nC. The Commission shall:\n\n1. Plan and sponsor official Route 66 Centennial events,\n\nprograms and activities appropriate to commemorate the Route 66\n\nCentennial;\n\n2. Encourage the development of programs designed to involve\n\nall citizens in activities that commemorate the Route 66 Centennial\n\nevents; and\n\n3. Make available to the public, to the best of the\n\nCommission's ability, information on Route 66 Centennial events\n\nhappening throughout the State of Oklahoma.\n\nD. The Commission may accept monetary gifts, grants or\n\nappropriations from any public or private source to be held in a\n\nnonappropriated revolving fund authorized for the Oklahoma\n\nHistorical Society and expended solely for the use of the Commission\n\nin performing the Commission's powers and duties under this act.\n\nThe Commission may also accept in-kind gifts.\n\nE. Each member of the Commission shall serve without\n\ncompensation or reimbursement for travel related to Commission\n\nduties, aside from the compensation he or she might otherwise\n\nreceive as authorized by law.\n\nF. The Commission shall be dissolved on June 30, 2027, and any\n\nassets remaining in the Commission's trust fund shall be deposited\n\ninto the state's General Revenue Fund.
