Stat. tit. 69, § 69-501","heading":"Classes of highways - Construction, repair, and","body":"maintenance - Removal from System - Maps.\n\nA. The highway system of this state shall be divided into two\n\nclasses to be known as the State Highway System and county highway\n\nsystem. The State Highway System shall be designated by the\n\nCommission and shall be composed of intercounty and interstate\n\nhighways.\n\nB. When the Commission shall have taken over any highway, or\n\npart thereof, as a state highway, the Commission shall become\n\nresponsible for the construction, repair and maintenance of such\n\nhighway and for this purpose shall be authorized to use any state\n\nhighway funds, together with any money derived from any agreement\n\nentered into between the Commission and the federal government, any\n\ncounty, or any citizen or group of citizens who have made donations\n\nfor that purpose.\n\nC. When any segment of the State Highway System is removed from\n\nthe system, all right, title, and interest to the road, right-of-\n\nway, and any signs or facilities shall revert to the appropriate\n\ncounty or municipal authority. The Department of Transportation\n\nshall determine the specific right-of-way to be conveyed and prepare\n\nand execute a conveyance of title document which shall be forwarded\n\nto the local authority to be filed with the county clerk.\n\nD. Prior to returning a state highway back to the county\n\nhighway system, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation shall make\n\nany necessary improvements to the road to meet the minimum design\n\nguidelines as set forth in the current State of Oklahoma County Road\n\nDesign Guidelines Manual, and provide a driving surface that has no\n\nless than a good rating according to the current County Road Surface\n\nManagement System. Prior to returning a state highway bridge back\n\nto the County Bridge System, the Oklahoma Department of\n\nTransportation shall make any necessary improvements to the bridge\n\nso that it will achieve a minimum H-20 twenty (20) ton computed\n\noperating rating according to the National Bridge Inventory System\n\nand a Minimum Scour Rating of 3, NBI Item 113.\n\nE. The Commission shall provide and maintain a map of the state\n\nwhich shall show all the highways which have been designated as part\n\nof the State Highway System and, when practical, status of\n\nimprovement thereon.
