Stat. tit. 69, § 69-613","heading":"Working convicts on county highways - Duties of officers","body":"The board of county commissioners of any county shall have\n\nauthority to work any convicts confined in the county jail, either\n\nas punishment for crime or in lieu of payment of fine and costs,\n\nupon public highways in the county, and to employ such guards and\n\nother assistants as may be required.
