Stat. tit. 69, § 69-615","heading":"Convicts to perform road work - Credit for work -","body":"Authority of road supervisors.\n\nAny person in this state convicted of a crime who, as a result\n\nof such conviction, is confined as a prisoner in a county jail of\n\nany county may, at the discretion of the board of county\n\ncommissioners of such county in which the jail is located, be\n\nrequired by the board of county commissioners to perform road work\n\non the public highways of the county and upon the streets of any\n\nmunicipality located in the county. When such prisoner shall\n\nperform the road work in a satisfactory manner, under the\n\nsupervision of any road supervisor of the county or municipality\n\nhaving jurisdiction over the person, the prisoner shall be entitled\n\nto two (2) day's credit on his time in the jail for each day\n\nconsisting of eight (8) hours of road work performed by the person\n\nand he shall be recorded as having served two (2) days in the jail\n\non his judgment and sentence. Any road supervisor having under his\n\nsupervision any prisoner or prisoners for the purpose of performing\n\nroad work, as herein provided, shall be deputized as a deputy\n\nsheriff or special police officer with full authority of law as\n\ndeputy sheriff or police officer for the purpose of properly\n\ncarrying out the provisions of this section and shall be responsible\n\nunder the law in the same manner as other officers are responsible\n\nfor safekeeping of prisoners and shall be subject to the same\n\npenalties.","path":["OK Code","Title 69"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os69.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"053c47141a93355741ba30f890858f0e59486fab0b43cbd0cd16d99a2941d6c9","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-614","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-69-69-616"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
