Stat. tit. 69, § 69-619","heading":"City and town prisoners employed by counties - Credit for","body":"work.\n\nThe boards of county commissioners of the several counties of\n\nthe state shall have authority to receive by agreement with the\n\ngoverning board of any municipality, the prisoners of the\n\nmunicipality, who have been sentenced to imprisonment in the\n\nmunicipality's jail, either as punishment or in lieu of payment of\n\nfine and costs for the violation of any municipal ordinance, and\n\nsuch board of county commissioners shall have authority to work any\n\nsuch prisoners on the public highways or upon a rock pile, or rock\n\ncrusher, for the purpose of providing material for use upon public\n\nhighways or any public institution of such county, or upon any\n\npublic work in which the county is interested.
