Stat. tit. 69, § 69-655","heading":"County route markers","body":"The board of county commissioners in each county may, within one\n\n(1) year after the designation of the county primary road system in\n\nthat county, locate, erect and thereafter maintain markers\n\ndesignating those routes classified as county primary roads.\n\nMarkers shall bear the cardinal number or other identification\n\nassigned the particular route on which the marker is erected and\n\nshall indicate the name of the county. The responsibility for\n\ndevising a practical, systematic county primary route numbering\n\nscheme, including the configuration of the identifying device,\n\nreadily lending itself to functional implementation is vested and\n\nimposed jointly on representatives of the Oklahoma Cooperative\n\nCircuit Engineering Districts Board and the Department of\n\nTransportation. The scheme shall be so devised as to offer\n\nintracounty and intercounty road users a convenient means of\n\nidentifying and using the county primary road system and shall\n\nprovide for continuous numbering of routes crossing county\n\nboundaries.
