Stat. tit. 69, § 69-901","heading":"Construction, improvements or maintenance of municipal","body":"streets, signs, lights, etc.\n\nThe Commission shall pay the cost of or perform the act of\n\nconstructing, improving or maintaining municipal streets where such\n\nstreets are a continuation of the state or federal highway system\n\nand the cost of installation, repair and maintenance of signs and\n\nlane marking for municipal streets where such streets are a\n\ncontinuation of the state or federal highway system. The Commission\n\nshall not pay the cost of mowing the right-of-way; drainage systems\n\nand facilities; or curbs, sidewalks or driveways of any such street.\n\nWhen a municipality performs construction or maintenance operations\n\nwithin the right-of-way which affects or involves the removal of the\n\nsurface, grade or subgrade of the highway, the municipality shall,\n\nat the expense of the municipality, restore the surface, grade or\n\nsubgrade of the highway in accordance with the standards and\n\nspecifications set forth by the Department of Transportation. If\n\nthe municipality fails to restore the surface, grade or subgrade of\n\nthe highway in accordance with the standards and specifications set\n\nforth by the Department of Transportation, the Department of\n\nTransportation shall restore the highway and charge the municipality\n\nfor all expenses associated therewith.
