Stat. tit. 7, § 7-16","heading":"Earned income defined - Deductions in determining","body":"Earned income of a blind applicant for or recipient of\n\nassistance, for the purposes of this act, shall be net remuneration\n\nfor employment or self-employment of the applicant or recipient,\n\nincluding the cash value of all remuneration paid in any medium\n\nother than cash. Such earned income shall include all net income\n\nfrom salaries, wages, or commission paid to the applicant or\n\nrecipient, and all net income from a business or profession owned or\n\npracticed by the applicant or recipient. In computing net income,\n\nthe following deductions shall be made from the gross income of the\n\napplicant or recipient from salaries, wages, commission, sales, and\n\nfees: (1) expenses of all transportation incident to employment,\n\nunless such expenses are reimbursed by the employer; (2) cost of\n\nmeals and lodging while away from home on business incident to\n\nemployment, unless such expense is reimbursed by the employer; (3)\n\ndues to trade or professional organizations; (4) cost of merchandise\n\nsold in carrying on business; (5) salaries, wages, commissions, and\n\nfees paid by the applicant or recipient in carrying on his business\n\nor profession; (6) interest on indebtedness incurred in carrying on\n\nbusiness or profession; (7) taxes on property used in business or\n\nprofession; (8) cost of repairs, rent, and service charges on\n\nproperty used in business or profession; (9) allowance for\n\ndepreciation of property used in business or profession; (10) cost\n\nof telephone service used in business or profession; (11) cost of\n\nsupplies used in business or profession; (12) bad debts resulting\n\nfrom sales of merchandise or equipment used in business or\n\nprofession.","path":["OK Code","Title 7"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os7.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3a6a454ea209071ff949470fc69f816c316e6897a51e45ab2b31d0d03acdd193","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-7-7-15","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-7-7-19.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
