Any blind, physically handicapped, deaf or hard-of-hearing\n\nperson who is a passenger on any common carrier, airplane, motor\n\nvehicle, railroad train, motorbus, streetcar, boat, or any other\n\npublic conveyance or mode of transportation operating within this\n\nstate or any dog trainer from a recognized training center when in\n\nthe act of training guide, signal, or service dogs shall be entitled\n\nto have with him or her a guide, signal, or service dog specially\n\ntrained or being trained for that purpose, without being required to\n\npay an additional charge therefor, but shall be liable as hereafter\n\nset forth in subsection B of this section.\n\nB. A blind, physically handicapped, deaf or hard-of-hearing\n\nperson and his or her guide, signal, or service dog or a dog trainer\n\nfrom a recognized training center in the act of training guide,\n\nsignal, or service dogs shall not be denied admittance to or refused\n\naccess to any of the following because of such dog: Any street,\n\nhighway, sidewalk, walkway, any common carrier, airplane, motor\n\nvehicle, railroad train, motor bus, streetcar, boat, or any other\n\npublic conveyance or mode of transportation, hotel, motel, or other\n\nplace of lodging, public building maintained by any unit or\n\nsubdivision of government, building to which the general public is\n\ninvited, college dormitory and other educational facility,\n\nrestaurant or other place where food is offered for sale to the\n\npublic, or any other place of public accommodation, amusement,\n\nconvenience, or resort to which the general public or any\n\nclassification of persons from the general public is regularly,\n\nnormally, or customarily invited within the State of Oklahoma. Such\n\nblind, physically handicapped, deaf or hard-of-hearing person or dog\n\ntrainer from a recognized training center in the act of training\n\nguide, signal, or service dogs shall not be required to pay any\n\nadditional charges for his or her guide, signal, or service dog, but\n\nshall be liable for any damage done to the premises by such dog.\n\nC. A dog used by a deaf or hard-of-hearing person shall be\n\nrequired to wear an orange identifying collar.\n\nD. For the purposes of this section and Section 113.1 of Title\n\n41 of the Oklahoma Statutes:\n\n1. \"Physically handicapped person\" means any person who has a\n\nphysical impairment which severely and permanently restricts\n\nmobility of two or more extremities, or who is so severely disabled\n\nas to be unable to move without the aid of a wheelchair;\n\n2. \"Service dog\" means any dog individually trained to the\n\nphysically handicapped person's requirements; and\n\n3. \"Signal dog\" means any dog trained to alert a deaf or hard-\n\nof-hearing person to intruders or sounds.","path":["OK Code","Title 7"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os7.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"038b813492bd121ecb45f9d5a0e55ec07ba3c6961a6f5748b23f83ab15224e7c","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-7-7-16","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-7-7-19.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
