Stat. tit. 70, § 70-11-103.1","heading":"American Sign Language - Teaching in public school","body":"American Sign Language is hereby recognized as a language art\n\nand may be taught in the public schools of the state in educational\n\nprograms for both hearing and deaf students. American Sign Language\n\nclasses taught in the public schools may be counted by a public\n\nschool in fulfilling elective course offerings and shall be granted\n\nthe same credit as a foreign language.
