Stat. tit. 70, § 70-11-103.6l","heading":"Workforce Oklahoma Academic High School Diploma","body":"Recognition Act\n\nA. This act shall be known and may be cited as the \"2016\n\nWorkforce Oklahoma Academic High School Diploma Recognition Act\".\n\nB. Beginning with the 2020-2021 high school graduating class, a\n\nschool district may implement graduation recognitions for students\n\nwho have met the curricular requirements set forth in Section 11-\n\n103.6d of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes and who have\n\nparticipated in an approved program of study leading to a recognized\n\ncareer and/or postsecondary education pathway. Such students may be\n\neligible for the following graduation recognitions on their standard\n\ndiploma:\n\n1. \"Recognition of highest academic distinction\" for students\n\nwho achieve a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.75 or\n\nhigher on a 4.0 scale for all coursework performed in their career\n\npathway of choice, along with meeting state-recognized college\n\nentrance requirements at the time of graduation;\n\n2. \"Recognition of academic honors\" for students who achieve a\n\ncumulative high school grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0\n\nscale for all coursework performed in their career pathway of\n\nchoice, along with meeting state-recognized college entrance\n\nrequirements at the time of graduation; and\n\n3. \"Recognition of academic merit\" for students who achieve a\n\ncumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0\n\nscale for all coursework performed in their career pathway of\n\nchoice, along with meeting state-recognized college entrance\n\nrequirements at the time of graduation.\n\nC. A graduation recognition awarded pursuant to this section\n\nmay be indicated upon the diploma and high school transcript of\n\nthose students who qualify for such status.\n\nD. For the purposes of this section \"approved programs of\n\nstudy\" shall mean those programs of study identified by the local\n\nschool district that shall include an identified sequence of courses\n\nleading to career entry and/or postsecondary education. Approved\n\ncourse sequences shall include at least six (6) credits within a\n\ncareer pathway and shall include advanced placement courses, career\n\nand technical science, technology, engineering and mathematics\n\n(STEM) courses, concurrent enrollment college courses or a\n\ncombination of such courses that best prepare students for work or\n\nfurther study in a career pathway of their choice.\n\nE.
