Stat. tit. 70, § 70-11-103.9b","heading":"Short title - Maria's Law – Mental health","body":"curriculum.\n\nA. This section shall be known and may be cited as \"Maria's\n\nLaw\".\n\nB. Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, the State Board of\n\nEducation shall require that all schools, as part of any health\n\neducation curriculum, include instruction in mental health, with an\n\nemphasis on the interrelation of physical and mental well-being.\n\nC. In consultation with the Department of Mental Health and\n\nSubstance Abuse Services, the Board shall revise the Oklahoma\n\nAcademic Standards for Health and Physical Education to include a\n\nfocus on mental health and develop a list of age-appropriate\n\nresources for students in grades kindergarten through twelve. The\n\nstandards and resources shall be available on the website of the\n\nState Department of Education.\n\nD. School districts may enter into agreements with nonprofit\n\nentities and other community partners to assist with or to provide\n\nmental health education to students pursuant to this section if the\n\nnonprofits and community partners are approved by the State\n\nDepartment of Education and the Department of Mental Health and\n\nSubstance Abuse Services.\n\nE.
