Stat. tit. 70, § 70-11-108.3","heading":"Program development - Assistance from State Board of","body":"Education.\n\nThe State Board of Education may assist school districts with\n\nthe development of youth community service programs by:\n\n1. Establishing and maintaining a list of acceptable projects\n\nwith a description of each project, and providing for projects to be\n\nplaced on the list upon proper application by the local district and\n\nevaluation by the State Department of Education;\n\n2. Verifying that community sponsors have filed assurances with\n\nthe Department of Education that youth community services students\n\nare not displacing employees or reducing the hours for which any\n\nemployee is paid;\n\n3. Assisting school districts in publicizing the youth\n\ncommunity service program and in determining whether there is\n\nsufficient interest in the district to warrant a youth community\n\nservice program;\n\n4. Monitoring districts to assure that youth community service\n\nprograms are established in districts where interest warrants;\n\n5. Evaluating local youth community service programs;\n\n6. Developing in-service training components to be used by\n\nlocal districts for preparation of youth community service program\n\nfaculty sponsors;\n\n7. Assisting local districts in applying for grants from\n\nprivate or governmental sources for youth community service\n\nprograms; and\n\n8.
