Stat. tit. 70, § 70-1210.182","heading":"Industrial quality eye protective devices","body":"\n\nEvery student and teacher in schools, colleges, universities, or\n\nother educational institutions, participating in or observing any of\n\nthe following courses of instruction in:\n\n(A) Vocational, technical, industrial arts, chemical, or\n\nchemical-physical, involving exposure to:\n\n1. Hot molten metals, or other molten materials;\n\n2. Milling, sawing, turning, shaping, cutting, grinding, or\n\nstamping of any solid materials;\n\n3. Heat treatment, tempering, or kiln firing of any metal or\n\nother materials;\n\n4. Gas or electric arc welding, or other forms of welding\n\nprocesses;\n\n5. Repair or servicing of any vehicle where there is danger of\n\ninjury to the eyes;\n\n6. Caustic or explosive materials;\n\n(B) Chemical, physical, or combined chemical-physical\n\nlaboratories involving caustic or explosive materials, hot liquids\n\nor solids, injurious radiations, or other hazards not enumerated; is\n\nrequired to wear appropriate industrial quality eye protective\n\ndevices at all times while participating in or observing such\n\ncourses of instruction. Such devices may be furnished for all\n\nstudents and teachers, or made available for a moderate rental fee,\n\nand shall be furnished for all visitors to such shops and\n\nlaboratories when entering working areas.\n\n\"Industrial quality eye protective devices\", as used in this\n\nsection means devices meeting the standards of the USA Standard\n\nPractice for Occupational and Educational Eye and Face Protection,\n\nZ87.1-1968, and subsequent revisions thereof, approved by the United\n\nStates of America Standards Institute, Inc.\n\nThe State Commissioner of Health shall prepare and circulate to\n\neach public and private educational institution in this state\n\ninstructions and recommendations for implementing the eye safety\n\nprovisions of this law.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d315acc77000149c1380e71df302cfb481b372ce04fea18ae0209b7f55c9e9c2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-1210.181","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-1210.183"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
