Stat. tit. 70, § 70-1210.34","heading":"Special license plates for automobiles furnished by","body":"dealers - Insurance - Liability.\n\n(a) Each new motor vehicle loaned and furnished free of charge\n\nby a licensed Oklahoma new car dealer to a school district or\n\ninstitution of higher learning in Oklahoma to be used exclusively\n\nfor instructing pupils or used in the instruction of teachers in the\n\ndriver education and training program, including any vehicle used\n\nexclusively for vocational agriculture purposes, conducted by such\n\nschool district or institution of higher learning may be operated\n\nfor such purpose with a special driver education training license\n\nplate attached thereto. Such license plates shall be issued without\n\nany charge therefor to school districts or institutions of higher\n\nlearning from the central office of the Oklahoma Tax Commission upon\n\napplication forms prescribed and furnished by the Commission, and\n\nsuch plates shall be accounted for by the school district or\n\ninstitution of higher learning to which issued, as the Tax\n\nCommission may require. Said special license plates shall be used\n\nonly on such motor vehicles furnished free of charge by dealers and\n\nused in the driver education program, including any vehicle used\n\nexclusively for vocational agriculture purposes, and for no other\n\npurpose except for garaging and safekeeping of said motor vehicle.\n\n(b) The school district or institution of higher learning may\n\nprovide adequate insurance to cover such motor vehicle and its use\n\nfor such purposes, and the dealer owning and so furnishing same\n\nshall not be liable for any personal injury or property damage\n\nresulting from the use of any such motor vehicle while in the\n\npossession of the school district or institution of higher learning,\n\nits officials, employees or students.\n\nThe use of such motor vehicles for said purposes by school\n\ndistricts or institutions of higher learning is declared to be a\n\npublic governmental function and no action for damages shall be\n\nbrought against the school districts or institutions of higher\n\nlearning and the amount of damages, if any, recoverable against the\n\ninsurer and collectible from such insurer shall be limited to the\n\namount provided in the insurance contract. Provided that the\n\nprovisions hereof shall not be construed as creating any liability\n\nwhatever against any school district or institution of higher\n\nlearning which has not provided said insurance.\n\n(c) Each new motor vehicle loaned and furnished free of charge\n\nby a licensed Oklahoma new car dealer to a parochial, private or\n\nnonpublic school in Oklahoma to be used exclusively for instructing\n\npupils in the driver education and training program may be operated\n\nfor such purpose with a special private driver education training\n\nlicense plate attached thereto. The Oklahoma Tax Commission shall\n\nissue said license upon payment of a fee of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per\n\nyear. The ten-dollar fee shall be in addition to other fees\n\nrequired by law, excluding the annual license fee established\n\npursuant to the Oklahoma Vehicle License and Registration Act. The\n\nrevenue collected shall be apportioned as provided by law for such\n\nmotor vehicles. The Oklahoma Tax Commission shall prescribe and\n\nfurnish application forms for such purpose and shall promulgate\n\nrules and regulations for the issuance and revocation of said\n\nlicense.
