Beginning with the 2005-2006 school year, and each year\n\nthereafter, the State Board of Education shall identify public\n\nschools with low student achievement in mathematics at the middle\n\nschool level, subject to a limit of one school selected per school\n\ndistrict each year. Each school selected shall be provided a middle\n\nschool mathematics laboratory which includes a complete education\n\nsoftware and hardware system that delivers standards-based,\n\nprealgebra and algebra content using an interactive computer\n\neducation teaching system for middle school level students. No\n\nschool shall be eligible to receive a mathematics laboratory more\n\nthan once. The number of schools selected each year shall be\n\ndetermined based on the total amount of funds available and the\n\nnumber of computers necessary for a class of students at each\n\nqualifying school site.\n\nB. The State Board of Education shall select a vendor on a\n\ncompetitive bid basis to provide the middle school mathematics\n\nlaboratory as described in this section. The contract shall include\n\nall equipment, software, training, and maintenance. The vendor\n\nselected shall utilize a curriculum that meets the guidelines for\n\nscientifically based research as determined by the United States\n\nDepartment of Education and aligns with the Priority Academic\n\nStudent Skills as adopted by the State Board of Education.\n\nC. The State Board of Education shall develop eligibility\n\ncriteria for schools to qualify for a mathematics laboratory\n\npursuant to this section, annually evaluate and report to the\n\nLegislature and Governor on the effectiveness of this program, and\n\nadopt rules to implement the provisions of this section.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"02e92d09ddc276c065905eed265fe50faaf4b0ca4d641692c05cba1c764d92fe","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-1210.557","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-1210.566"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
