The board of education for a school district in which a\n\ndevelopmental research school has been established pursuant to this\n\nact is hereby designated and shall consist of five (5) members as\n\nfollows:\n\n1. The president of the affiliated institution of higher\n\neducation or designee;\n\n2. The dean of the affiliated college of education or designee;\n\n3. One faculty member from the affiliated higher education\n\ninstitution who is a parent of a student who attends the\n\ndevelopmental research school and who is a resident of the community\n\nin which the school is located, to be appointed by the president of\n\nthe affiliated higher education institution;\n\n4. The regional accreditation officer for the State Board of\n\nEducation for the region in which the developmental research school\n\nis located; and\n\n5. One member appointed by the State Board of Education who is\n\na parent or legal guardian of a student who attends the\n\ndevelopmental research school.\n\nB. The terms of the members of the board, except the president\n\nof the higher education institution, dean of the college of\n\neducation of the higher education institution, and the regional\n\naccreditation officer, shall be staggered with the initial term of\n\nthe faculty member appointed by the president of the higher\n\neducation institution being five (5) years and the initial term of\n\nthe member appointed by the State Board of Education being four (4)\n\nyears. Upon expiration of the initial terms, the term of each\n\nappointed member shall be five (5) years. Vacancies shall be filled\n\nby the appointing authority.\n\nC.
