Contingent upon the provision of appropriated funds\n\ndesignated for the Oklahoma Advanced Placement Incentive Program,\n\nthe State Board of Education is hereby authorized to award schools:\n\n1. A one-time equipment and/or instructional materials grant\n\nfor the purpose of providing an advanced placement course, based on\n\ncriteria established by the Department. Schools which receive the\n\ngrants shall:\n\na. offer the advanced placement courses beginning the\n\nschool year following receipt of the grant,\n\nb. provide the College Board training within one (1) year\n\nof the grant award, including at least a one-week\n\nsummer institute. Teachers shall be encouraged to\n\nattend annual follow-up training, and\n\nc. make available advanced placement examinations to all\n\nstudents taking the course for which a grant has been\n\nawarded;\n\n2. Additional grants to school sites demonstrating successful\n\nimplementation, as defined by the State Board of Education, of the\n\ncourses for which the first grants were awarded. Schools may\n\nqualify for additional grants a minimum of four (4) years after\n\nreceiving a grant award;\n\n3. Subsidized training for advanced placement courses,\n\npreadvanced placement courses, or International Baccalaureate\n\ncourses in a form, manner and time prescribed by the Department;\n\n4. One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each score of three or\n\nbetter on an advanced placement test or four or better on an\n\nInternational Baccalaureate examination; provided, these funds shall\n\nbe used for the purpose of Advanced Placement Program development;\n\n5. For those students who demonstrate financial need as defined\n\nby the College Board or the International Baccalaureate\n\nOrganization, a share of the advanced placement or International\n\nBaccalaureate test fee;\n\n6. For those students who take more than one advanced placement\n\nor International Baccalaureate test in one (1) year, a share of the\n\nadvanced placement test or International Baccalaureate fee in a\n\nmanner prescribed by the Board; and\n\n7. Grants for the purpose of developing an advanced placement\n\nvertical team based on criteria established by the Board.\n\nB. Upon completion of the test, the State Department of\n\nEducation shall obtain from the College Board and the International\n\nBaccalaureate Organization a list of students in Oklahoma who scored\n\na three or higher on the advanced placement test or a four or higher\n\non the International Baccalaureate test. Financial incentives for\n\nschools provided in this section shall be awarded at the beginning\n\nof the next school year following the school year in which the test\n\nwas taken.\n\nC.
