Stat. tit. 70, § 70-14-134","heading":"Tuition waivers for children of persons killed in the","body":"line of duty.\n\nA. Within the system of career technology districts, no\n\nresident tuition or nonresident tuition shall be charged to the:\n\n1. Children of Oklahoma peace officers as defined by Section\n\n648 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes who have given their lives\n\nin the line of duty;\n\n2. Children of Oklahoma firefighters who have given their lives\n\nin the line of duty;\n\n3. Children of members of the Oklahoma Law Enforcement\n\nRetirement System who have given their lives in the line of duty or\n\nwhose disability is by means of personal and traumatic injury of a\n\ncatastrophic nature, as defined by Section 2-300 of Title 47 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes, and occurred in the line of duty; and\n\n4. Children of Oklahoma emergency medical technicians who have\n\ngiven their lives in the line of duty.\n\nB. Such waiver of resident tuition and nonresident tuition\n\nshall be limited to a period of five (5) years.\n\nC. Such waiver of resident tuition or nonresident tuition to\n\nthe children of deceased peace officers and to the children of\n\ndeceased firefighters as provided for in this section shall be a\n\nservice benefit of each Oklahoma peace officer and Oklahoma\n\nfirefighter.\n\nD. For purposes of this section:\n\n1. \"Firefighter\" means a volunteer firefighter or a permanent\n\nsalaried professional member of any fire department within the State\n\nof Oklahoma; and\n\n2. \"Emergency medical technician\" means a person volunteering\n\nor employed as an emergency medical technician and who is licensed\n\nas an emergency medical technician pursuant to Section 1-2505 of\n\nTitle 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2a7d1de31b2fd56568ca99836d947fddc86cd3c25358f2b6b623246330c1e247","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-14-133","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-14-134.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
