Stat. tit. 70, § 70-14-135","heading":"Career-readiness assessments and assessment-based","body":"credentials.\n\nSubject to the availability of funds, beginning with the 2019-\n\n2020 school year, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, in\n\ncooperation with the State Department of Education and the\n\nCommission for Educational Quality and Accountability, shall review\n\nand approve career-readiness assessments and assessment-based\n\ncredentials that measure and document foundational workplace skills.\n\nBeginning with the 2019-2020 school year, the assessments shall be\n\nmade available to all public school districts to be administered to\n\nstudents at the discretion of each school district's administration.\n\nThe assessment-based credential shall be available to any student\n\nwho achieves the prescribed level on the required assessments. If\n\nthe public school district chooses to administer the assessments,\n\nthe assessments shall be administered at least once to each student\n\nwho chooses to take the assessment at no cost to the student. The\n\nassessments shall:\n\n1. Be a standardized, criterion-referenced measure of broadly\n\nrelevant foundational workplace skills;\n\n2. Assess and document student readiness for a wide range of\n\njobs;\n\n3. Measure skills in the following areas, including but not\n\nlimited to:\n\na. applied mathematics,\n\nb. workplace documents,\n\nc. graphic literacy, or\n\nd. critical thinking and leadership collaboration;\n\n4. Align with research-based skill requirement profiles for\n\nspecific industries and occupations;\n\n5. Lead to nationally recognized work-readiness certificates or\n\ncredentials for students who meet the minimum proficiency\n\nrequirements on the component assessments; and\n\n6.
