Stat. tit. 70, § 70-16-119","heading":"Sample textbooks","body":"All advance or sample copies of textbooks or any edition thereof\n\nfurnished to any member of the State Textbook Committee, or to any\n\nindividual for the purpose of obtaining a selection of the textbook\n\nby the State Textbook Committee, shall not be sold by the recipient\n\nthereof, but shall be disposed of as may be prescribed by the rules\n\nof the State Board of Education. Any advance or sample textbook or\n\nany edition thereof furnished to a member of a local textbook\n\ncommittee, or to any school official or individual for the purpose\n\nof obtaining a local adoption of the textbook, may be returned to\n\nthe publisher for credit if the cost of such book was charged\n\nagainst the value of textbooks allowed such school district.\n\nPublishers shall pay the cost of shipment on returned samples. All\n\npublishers having contracts to furnish textbooks to the State of\n\nOklahoma shall be required to file with the State Board of\n\nEducation, not later than the first day of January and the first day\n\nof July of each year following the dates of their respective\n\ncontracts, a sworn statement showing the names and addresses of all\n\npersons to whom they have furnished, during the preceding six (6)\n\nmonths, any advance or sample copies of such textbooks, or any\n\nedition thereof, together with the numbers and titles of such\n\ntextbooks furnished to each such recipient, and a failure to do so,\n\nor to give accurate and complete information concerning the same,\n\nshall authorize the State Board of Education to cancel the contract\n\nof such publisher.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6546af005c7473e2571851be78a3925e1c1eb093a11f813e162f9155b89d67ad","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-16-118","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-16-120"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
