Stat. tit. 70, § 70-16-123","heading":"Soliciting or receiving bribes - Punishment","body":"Any member of the State Board of Education and any member of the\n\nState Textbook Committee who directly or indirectly solicits,\n\nreceives or agrees to receive any money, goods, bribe, present,\n\nreward or any valuable thing whatsoever with the intent, and which\n\nwill have the effect, to influence a decision on any question,\n\nmatter, cause or proceeding in the selection or adoption of any\n\ntextbook or series of textbooks provided for in this article, upon\n\nconviction, shall be guilty of a felony.\n\nAny superintendent of schools, any member of a board of\n\neducation, and any member of a local textbook committee who directly\n\nor indirectly solicits, receives or agrees to receive any money,\n\ngoods, bribe, present, reward or any valuable thing whatsoever with\n\nthe intent and which will have the effect to influence a decision on\n\nany question, matter, cause or proceeding in the selection or\n\nadoption of any textbook or series of textbooks, upon conviction,\n\nshall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of\n\nnot to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment in\n\nthe county jail for a term of not to exceed six (6) months, or both\n\nsuch fine and imprisonment.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7cddd5e83111c4d824533cf0123ea757eb678572ce5f3c06fb5f7ad6abf07304","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-16-122","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-16-124"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
