Stat. tit. 70, § 70-16-124","heading":"Violations of act - Punishment","body":"Any person, firm or corporation that violates any of the\n\nprovisions of this article, or any of the rules of the State Board\n\nof Education or the State Textbook Committee adopted pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of this article, the penalty for violation thereof not\n\notherwise being provided herein, upon conviction, shall be guilty of\n\na misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not less than One\n\nHundred Dollars ($100.00) and not more than Five Hundred Dollars\n\n($500.00), or by imprisonment in the county jail for not less than\n\nninety (90) days and not more than one (1) year, or by both such\n\nfine and imprisonment. Any public official or public employee\n\nviolating any of the provisions of this article or any of such rules\n\nshall be subject to the foregoing penalties and in addition thereto\n\nshall forfeit the position or office.
