Stat. tit. 70, § 70-17-101.1","heading":"Transfer of employees of Oklahoma Board of Private","body":"Vocational Schools to Teachers' Retirement System.\n\nA. Except as otherwise provided for in this section, employees\n\nof the Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools shall be members\n\nof the Teachers' Retirement System of Oklahoma.\n\nB. Employees of the Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational\n\nSchools who were as of June 30, 1986, employees of the Oklahoma\n\nBoard of Private Schools and members of the Oklahoma Public\n\nEmployees Retirement System shall cease accruing benefits in the\n\nOklahoma Public Employees Retirement System and commence accruing\n\nbenefits under the Teachers' Retirement System of Oklahoma on August\n\n1, 1986. The Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System shall\n\ntransfer to the Teachers' Retirement System of Oklahoma the\n\nretirement records for each such employee and the actual amount\n\ncontributed to the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System by\n\nthe state and by each such employee transferring to the Oklahoma\n\nTeachers' Retirement System. All years and months of service\n\naccrued by each such employee pursuant to the provisions of the\n\nOklahoma Public Employees Retirement System shall be treated as\n\ncredited service in the Teachers' Retirement System of Oklahoma.\n\nC. Employees of the Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational\n\nSchools who were as of June 30, 1986, employees of the Oklahoma\n\nBoard of Private Schools and members of the Oklahoma Public\n\nEmployees Retirement System, individually may choose to remain\n\nmembers of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System. Any\n\nsuch employee choosing to remain a member of the Oklahoma Public\n\nEmployees Retirement System shall submit written notification of\n\nsuch choice to the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology\n\nEducation prior to August 1, 1986. On August 1, 1986, the Oklahoma\n\nDepartment of Career and Technology Education shall notify the\n\nOklahoma Public Employees Retirement System of those employees who\n\nchose to remain members of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement\n\nSystem and such employees shall not be transferred from the Oklahoma\n\nPublic Employees Retirement System to the Teachers' Retirement\n\nSystem of Oklahoma.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"aa86ae88a683971c89535374691ea002b3797322ba138e3d057c343110141610","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-17-101","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-17-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
