An employee transferred pursuant to the provisions of\n\nSection 3 of this act may elect to become a member of the Teachers’\n\nRetirement System of Oklahoma pursuant to the election authorized by\n\nsubsection A of Section 3 of this act. If the employee makes an\n\nelection to become a member of the Teachers’ Retirement System of\n\nOklahoma, the employee may acquire service credit in the Teachers’\n\nRetirement System pursuant to the provisions of Section 17-116.2 of\n\nTitle 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nB. On and after the date that an employee makes an election to\n\nbecome a member of the Teachers’ Retirement System pursuant to\n\nsubsection A of Section 3 of this act, the employer to which the\n\nemployee is transferred shall make required contributions pursuant\n\nto Section 17-108.1 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes and the\n\nemployee shall make required contributions imposed pursuant to\n\nSection 17-116.2 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nC. On and after the date that an employee files the election to\n\nbecome a member of the Teachers’ Retirement System, the employer to\n\nwhich the employee is transferred and the employee making the\n\nelection shall be subject to all requirements of the provisions of\n\nSections 17-101 et seq. of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes\n\ngoverning the Teachers’ Retirement System of Oklahoma.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"5dd64688d724c54c915c38c01327b1ed526256f5262741bbd8c2d49d7520be8f","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-17-116.13","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-17-116.16"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
