Stat. tit. 70, § 70-1730","heading":"Teacher contracts for the Oklahoma School for the Deaf or","body":"Oklahoma School for the Blind.\n\nA. Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, a person who is\n\ncertified to teach by the State Board of Education and hired or\n\nemployed as a teacher by the Oklahoma School for the Deaf or\n\nOklahoma School for the Blind shall enter into an employment\n\ncontract which begins on August 1 and ends on July 31 of the\n\nsubsequent calendar year. The employment contract shall establish a\n\nmaximum amount of one thousand two hundred (1,200) working hours for\n\nthe duration of the contract.\n\nB. As used in this section, \"working hours\" means instructional\n\ntime, professional development time, volunteer time, or extra duty\n\ntime which is unpaid. Working hours shall not include time spent in\n\nstipend positions or paid extra duty, extracurricular activity, or\n\nathletic coaching time. Volunteer time occurring outside of the\n\nschool year shall not be included in the working hours maximum\n\nestablished in subsection A of this section.\n\nC. Teachers employed by the Oklahoma School for the Deaf or\n\nOklahoma School for the Blind shall be compensated for using their\n\nplanning time, lunch period, or other available time to cover for an\n\nabsent teacher.
