Pursuant to Section 12a of Article X of the Oklahoma\n\nConstitution, there is hereby created in the State Treasury a fund\n\nto be designated as the \"Common School Fund\". Monies from this fund\n\nshall be apportioned by the State Treasurer for distribution as\n\nprovided for by the Legislature through the State Aid Formula for\n\nthe benefit of the common schools of this state.\n\nB. Beginning January 1, 1991, taxes collected on public service\n\ncorporation property for the benefit of the common schools pursuant\n\nto paragraph 2 of subsection B of Section 12a of Article X of the\n\nOklahoma Constitution, except that portion of such taxes collected\n\nfor the benefit of school districts in this state pursuant to\n\nSection 26 of Article X of the Oklahoma Constitution and that\n\nportion of such taxes collected for purposes of raising money for a\n\nbuilding fund for a school district pursuant to Section 9 of Article\n\nX of the Oklahoma Constitution, and taxes collected on locally\n\nassessed commercial/industrial real and personal property for the\n\nbenefit of the common schools pursuant to paragraph 2 of subsection\n\nC of Section 12a of Article X of the Oklahoma Constitution, except\n\nthat portion of such taxes collected for the benefit of school\n\ndistricts in this state pursuant to Section 26 of Article X of the\n\nOklahoma Constitution and that portion of such taxes collected for\n\npurposes of raising money for a building fund for a school district\n\npursuant to Section 9 of Article X of the Oklahoma Constitution,\n\ntogether with any revenues accruing to it pursuant to law and any\n\nmoney appropriated to it by the Legislature shall be paid to the\n\nState Treasurer to be placed in the Common School Fund.\n\nC. Beginning July 1, 1991, gross production taxes collected on\n\noil and gas which are apportioned for common school purposes\n\npursuant to the provisions of Section 1004 of Title 68 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes, motor vehicle taxes and fees collected pursuant\n\nto the Oklahoma Vehicle License and Registration Act which are\n\napportioned for common school purposes pursuant to the provisions of\n\nSection 1104 of Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statutes and taxes levied\n\nupon rural electric cooperative corporations which are apportioned\n\nfor common school purposes pursuant to the provisions of Section\n\n1806 of Title 68 of the Oklahoma Statutes together with any revenues\n\naccruing to it pursuant to law and any money appropriated to it by\n\nthe Legislature shall be paid to the State Treasurer to be placed in\n\nthe Common School Fund.\n\nD. The provisions of this section shall not have the force and\n\neffect of law unless and until the voters of the State of Oklahoma\n\napprove amendments to Section 12a of Article X of the Oklahoma\n\nConstitution contained in Enrolled House Joint Resolution No. 1005\n\nof the 1st Extraordinary Session of the 42nd Oklahoma Legislature.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b98e8d8043a02f4fe856eddf1f30b15104465ebd0bf5cdb18cf520fd0ebbd8b0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-18-109.6","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-18-110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
