Stat. tit. 70, § 70-2119","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in Sections 1 through 5 of this act:\n\n1. \"Benefit\" includes, without limitation:\n\na. recognition,\n\nb. registration,\n\nc. the use of facilities of the public institution of\n\nhigher education for meetings or speaking purposes,\n\nd. the use of channels of communication of the public\n\ninstitution of higher education, and\n\ne. funding sources that are otherwise available to other\n\nstudent associations in the public institution of\n\nhigher education;\n\n2. \"Exercise of religion\" includes without limitation the\n\npractice or observance of religion as interpreted under state law or\n\nthe First Amendment of the United States Constitution, whichever\n\ninterpretation is broader;\n\n3. \"Public institution of higher education\" includes any\n\ninstitution that is a member of The Oklahoma State System of Higher\n\nEducation or of a technology center school district;\n\n4. \"Substantially burdens\" includes without limitation an\n\naction by a public institution of higher education which directly or\n\nindirectly:\n\na. constrains or inhibits conduct or expression that\n\nreflects a student's sincerely held religious beliefs,\n\nb. denies a student an opportunity to engage in religious\n\nactivities, or\n\nc. pressures a student either:\n\n(1) to not engage in conduct or expression motivated\n\nby a sincerely held religious belief, or\n\n(2) to engage in conduct or expression contrary to a\n\nsincerely held religious belief;\n\n5. \"Student\" means a person who is enrolled full-time or part-\n\ntime in a public institution of higher education; and\n\n6. \"Religious student association\" means an association of\n\nstudents organized around shared religious beliefs.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2894cec1d042ba3f9f8ea6b0c0f7ce39b7e92fac91a6731dc62591dd3d3f8f90","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-2118","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-2119.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
