Stat. tit. 70, § 70-23-101","heading":"Purpose of the Television Authority","body":"It is the intent of the Oklahoma Legislature and the purpose of\n\nthis article to make educational television services available to\n\nall Oklahoma citizens on a coordinated statewide basis. Said\n\neducational television services shall be provided by and through the\n\nvarious educational and cultural agencies in the State of Oklahoma\n\nunder the direction and supervision of the Oklahoma Educational\n\nTelevision Authority hereinafter created.\n\nThe Oklahoma Educational Television Authority is hereby\n\nauthorized and empowered to plan, construct, repair, maintain and\n\noperate educational television facilities with channels assigned by\n\nthe Federal Communications Commission to the State of Oklahoma for\n\neducational television purposes. The purpose of said Authority\n\nshall be to provide a statewide educational television system,\n\nincluding any arrangements for extension thereof and interchanges\n\nand rental as may be necessary in establishing such statewide\n\nfacilities.\n\nThe Oklahoma Educational Television Authority is hereby\n\nauthorized to issue revenue bonds of the Authority payable solely\n\nfrom dedicated revenues to pay the cost of providing educational\n\ntelevision facilities as authorized in this article. Such revenue\n\nbonds shall never become obligations of the State of Oklahoma, but\n\nshall be retired by the Authority as provided in this article. Such\n\nrevenue bonds shall contain on the face thereof a statement to the\n\neffect that neither the state nor the Authority shall be obligated\n\nto pay the same or the interest thereon except from revenues\n\ndedicated by the Legislature, and that neither the faith and credit\n\nnor the taxing power of the state or any political subdivision\n\nthereof is pledged, or may hereafter be pledged, to the payment of\n\nthe principal of, or the interest on, such bonds.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e49e74061462b9e6c9c7ef18fb72862e872dfc4c41cae1d36a1d63857191e4c1","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-2292","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-23-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
