It is the intent of the Legislature to encourage and assist\n\nthe public schools of this state to address school violence through\n\nan emphasis on prevention. Preventative services shall be\n\nencouraged through greater access to mental health counseling and\n\nsocial services for students. In order to make licensed\n\nprofessional counselors and licensed social workers more available\n\nand accessible on site, school districts may:\n\n1. Contract with and allocate space for nonprofit agencies or\n\nother community-based service providers for the appropriate\n\npersonnel and services;\n\n2. Seek any available funding, including the use of Medicaid\n\nfunds for students who are Medicaid eligible through targeted case\n\nmanagement, and any other funding which may be available for related\n\nservices; and\n\n3.
