In order to assist the Healthy and Fit School Advisory\n\nCommittees created pursuant to Section 24-100a of Title 70 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes, the State Department of Education in consultation\n\nwith the State Department of Health shall make available to schools\n\ninformation and technical assistance for use in:\n\n1. Establishing healthy school nutrition environments;\n\n2. Reducing childhood obesity;\n\n3. Development of quality physical education and activity\n\nprograms;\n\n4. Prevention of diet-related chronic diseases; and\n\n5. Establishing, implementing, and evaluating school wellness\n\npolicies.\n\nB. The Healthy and Fit School Advisory Committees are\n\nencouraged to utilize the School Health Index available on the\n\nCenters for Disease Control and Prevention website or the Oklahoma\n\nHealthy and Fit Schools Scorecard available on the Governor’s\n\nCouncil on Physical Fitness and Sports website as a program\n\nassessment and monitoring instrument.\n\nC.
