Stat. tit. 70, § 70-24-115","heading":"Storm and fallout shelters","body":"In addition to other authority and powers now or hereafter\n\nconferred upon boards of education, the board of education of each\n\nschool district is hereby authorized and empowered to construct,\n\nequip, and maintain storm and fallout shelters independently or\n\njointly with other departments, offices, agencies, and all other\n\nentities of federal, state, and local governments. For the purposes\n\nof this article, said boards of education are hereby authorized and\n\nempowered:\n\n1. To expend funds;\n\n2. To accept federal, state, and local governmental and private\n\nfunds as may be available;\n\n3. To negotiate and enter into agreements, contractual and\n\notherwise, with such departments, offices, agencies, and other\n\nentities of federal, state, and local governments and with private\n\ncorporations, companies, and individuals;\n\n4. To authorize the construction of said storm and fallout\n\nshelters on school properties; and\n\n5.
