Stat. tit. 70, § 70-24-121","heading":"Safety belts for school bus drivers","body":"No vehicle shall be used by any school district within this\n\nstate for the transportation of school children unless such vehicle\n\nbe equipped with a safety belt or safety harness for the use of the\n\ndriver of such vehicle. Such seat belt and safety harness shall\n\nconform to such standards as may be prescribed by 49 C.F.R., Part\n\n571, and the Board shall furnish a copy of such standards to the\n\nboard of education of each school district. The driver of every\n\nvehicle used by a school district for the transportation of school\n\nchildren shall make use of such seat belts while in operation of the\n\nvehicle, and failure to do so shall be deemed to constitute a\n\nmisdemeanor, and upon conviction therefor such driver shall be\n\npunished by a fine of not less than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) nor\n\nmore than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d37b7b9cd7eca33d3996d331019d128ce6464fca4fa1d0c3daaf3a4f01616834","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-24-120.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-24-125"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
