The Imagination Library Revolving Fund created pursuant to\n\nSection 2 of this act shall be used to promote and foster the\n\ndevelopment of the Oklahoma Imagination Library Program, which shall\n\nbe a statewide program for encouraging pre-school children to read\n\nby providing age-appropriate books to children at their homes from\n\nbirth to age five (5) on a monthly basis.\n\nB. Contingent upon funds appropriated to the Imagination\n\nLibrary Revolving Fund created pursuant to Section 2 of this act,\n\nthe State Department of Education shall:\n\n1. Manage the daily operations of the Oklahoma Imagination\n\nLibrary Program and provide oversight of the Imagination Library\n\nRevolving Fund including but not limited to establishing county-\n\nbased programs in all seventy-seven counties and advancing and\n\nstrengthening the programs to ensure enrollment growth;\n\n2. Develop, promote and coordinate a public awareness program\n\nto make donors aware of the opportunity to donate to the Imagination\n\nLibrary Revolving Fund; and\n\n3. Develop, promote and coordinate a public awareness program\n\nto make the public aware of the opportunity to register children to\n\nreceive age-appropriate books on a monthly basis. To receive books\n\non a monthly basis, a child shall be under the age of five (5) and\n\nshall have an Oklahoma residence.\n\nC. The State Department of Education may establish a volunteer\n\nadvisory committee to assist with implementing the provisions of\n\nparagraphs 2 and 3 of subsection B of this section.\n\nD. The State Department of Education is authorized to retain up\n\nto ten percent (10%) of the funds appropriated, gifted, granted,\n\ndonated or bequested to the Imagination Library Revolving Fund for\n\nadministrative and operating expenses related to implementation of\n\nthe Oklahoma Imagination Library Program.\n\nE. The Oklahoma Imagination Library Program shall be funded by\n\nfifty percent (50%) private funds and fifty percent (50%)\n\nappropriated funds. The State Department of Education shall include\n\nin its annual budget request the estimated need to fund the Oklahoma\n\nImagination Library Program for the following fiscal year.\n\nF. The State Department of Education shall submit a report by\n\nJuly 1, 2021, and each July 1 thereafter to the chair of the Senate\n\nEducation Committee and the chair of the House of Representatives\n\nCommon Education Committee detailing the status of implementing the\n\nOklahoma Imagination Library Program.","path":["OK Code","Title 70"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os70.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"392a787b04d848cca16ea9a98f2facba520903e8a5053af30fc7b01b90f4288b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3-104.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-70-70-3-104.11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
