Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3-107.1","heading":"State Superintendent of Public Instruction – Powers","body":"and duties.\n\nThe State Superintendent of Public Instruction shall have the\n\ncontrol of and direct the State Department of Education. In\n\naddition to any other powers and duties as set forth by the Oklahoma\n\nConstitution or by law, the State Superintendent shall:\n\n1. Give advice and make recommendations to the State Board of\n\nEducation on all matters pertaining to the policies and\n\nadministration of the public school system;\n\n2. Adopt policies and make rules for the organization,\n\noperation and administration of the State Department of Education;\n\n3. Organize and have control of the administration of the State\n\nDepartment of Education and any other supervisory agencies,\n\ndivisions, personnel and their appointment and salaries and other\n\noperations necessary to carry out the powers, duties and functions\n\nof the State Superintendent and the State Board of Education;\n\n4. Have authority to require the coordination of all divisions\n\nof the State Department of Education and have general supervision of\n\nall employees of the Department;\n\n5. Present all recommendations of the Department to the State\n\nBoard and require employees of the Department to present specific\n\nmatters directly to the State Board; and\n\n6.
