Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3-118","heading":"Secretary of Education - Powers, duties and","body":"responsibilities.\n\nThe Secretary of Education shall:\n\n1. Oversee the Office of Educational Quality and\n\nAccountability;\n\n2. Employ necessary personnel according to procedures\n\nestablished for the employment of personnel by the Office of\n\nManagement and Enterprise Services;\n\n3. Monitor the efforts of the public school districts to comply\n\nwith the provisions of this act and of Enrolled Senate Bill No. 183\n\nof the 1st Session of the 42nd Oklahoma Legislature which relate to\n\ncommon education;\n\n4. Identify districts not making satisfactory progress toward\n\ncompliance with the provisions and recommend appropriate corrective\n\nactions to the State Board of Education concerning each district so\n\nidentified;\n\n5. Have executive responsibility for the Oklahoma Educational\n\nIndicators Program and the annual report required pursuant to\n\nSection 1210.531 of this title;\n\n6. Review and make periodic public comment on the progress and\n\neffectiveness of the State Board and State Department of Education,\n\nthe Office of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, other\n\nbodies created by this act, and the public schools of this state\n\nconcerning the implementation of the provisions of this act and of\n\nEnrolled Senate Bill No. 183 of the 1st Session of the 42nd Oklahoma\n\nLegislature which relate to common education;\n\n7. Analyze the revenues for all systems of education and the\n\nexpenditure of common education revenue, giving close attention to\n\nexpenditures for administrative expenses relating to the common\n\nschools;\n\n8. Make reports to the public concerning these matters whenever\n\nappropriate; and\n\n9.
