The State Department of Education shall make available to\n\nschool districts an optional electronic universal application for\n\nfree or reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch Act.\n\nThe application shall at a minimum:\n\n1. Enable parents and legal guardians to complete and\n\nelectronically submit applications for free and reduced-price meals\n\nto the school districts in which their students are enrolled;\n\n2. Facilitate school districts in collecting and electronically\n\nsubmitting free and reduced-price meal applications to the State\n\nDepartment of Education; and\n\n3. Allow for secure transmission of data necessary for\n\neligibility and enrollment determinations for the Supplemental\n\nNutrition Assistance Program.\n\nB.
