A sponsoring school district shall determine whether a\n\nteacher who is employed by or teaching at a charter school or\n\nvirtual charter school and who was previously employed as a teacher\n\nat the sponsoring public school district shall not lose any right of\n\nsalary status or any other benefit provided by law due to teaching\n\nat a charter school or virtual charter school upon returning to the\n\nsponsoring public school district to teach.\n\nB. A teacher who is employed by or teaching at a charter school\n\nor virtual charter school and who submits an employment application\n\nto the school district where the teacher was employed immediately\n\nbefore employment by or at a charter school or virtual charter\n\nschool shall be given employment preference by the school district\n\nif:\n\n1. The teacher submits an employment application to the school\n\ndistrict no later than three (3) years after ceasing employment with\n\nthe school district; and\n\n2.
