Stat. tit. 70, § 70-3202","heading":"Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education - Appointment","body":"of members - Eligibility - Removal - Vacancies.\n\n(a) The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, referred to\n\nin this section as the Board, established by Section 2, Article\n\nXIII-A, Oklahoma Constitution, shall consist of nine (9) members\n\nappointed by the Governor by and with the advice and consent of the\n\nSenate. Provided, that persons now serving on such Board shall be\n\nmembers of and shall continue to serve on the Board for the terms\n\nfor which they were appointed.\n\n(b) Members shall be citizens of the state, not less than\n\nthirty-five (35) years of age, and shall not be employees or members\n\nof the staff or governing board of any constituent member of the\n\nState System; and no official or employee of the State of Oklahoma\n\nshall be eligible to serve on such Board. Not more than four\n\nmembers shall be from the same profession or occupation; and not\n\nmore than three graduates of any one institution in the State System\n\nshall be eligible to serve as members during the same period of\n\ntime. Not more than two members shall be from the same\n\ncongressional district at the time said members are appointed;\n\nprovided, if a county is divided among three (3) or more\n\ncongressional districts, said limit shall not apply to members from\n\nthat county; rather, there shall be a limit of not more than two (2)\n\nmembers from that county.\n\n(c) Appointments shall be to numbered positions on the Board,\n\nand the terms of members of the Board shall be, as follows:\n\n(1) Position No. 1. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 16th day of May, 1966, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter.\n\n(2) Position No. 2. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 16th day of May, 1967, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter.\n\n(3) Position No. 3. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 16th day of May, 1968, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter.\n\n(4) Position No. 4. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 16th day of May, 1969, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter.\n\n(5) Position No. 5. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 16th day of May, 1970, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter.\n\n(6) Position No. 6. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 16th day of May, 1971, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter.\n\n(7) Position No. 7. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 16th day of May, 1972, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter.\n\n(8) Position No. 8. The term of office of one member shall\n\nexpire on the 16th day of May, 1973, and each nine (9) years\n\nthereafter.\n\n(9) Position No. 9.
